What is Epinions?
Epinions is a website where you can find some of the best consumer reviews on all kinds of products and web services. I have posted reviews on all kinds of products from electronics such as digital cameras and dvd players, to cookware sets and other housewares, to shampoos and other beauty aids, pet products and just about everything you could think of in between. Welcome to Welcome to Kelly's Views and Reviews. I have been a member since Epinions was young. I wish I had taken full advantage of what they had to offer back then. So many opportunities are missed by not getting in on the ground floor.
When I first joined Epinions back in 1999, they offered 10 cents per click. Of course, I did not believe that when I heard it so I wrote one quick article and went on my way to some of the other money making opportunities I found. Little did I know that my one lonely article was earning a healthy profit on it's own with no help from me. It really hurts to think what would have happened if I had stuck around instead of abandoning my poor little article to fend for itself.
Eventually, I heard talk that someone had really been paid by Epinions, so I went back to look at the site. To my surprise, my article had earned nearly enough to cash out with no help at all from me. Of course, you have to remember that this was back in the old days when the payouts were much higher, so you cannot expect the same results now.
Anyway, this is when I rejoined the site and began writing again. At that time, the payout had lowered to 2 cents per visit, and then dropped to 2 cents per member visit. Eventually it they adjusted it to some sort of algorithm that is only known to the Epinions team.
Some categories earn more than others do, and some months you can earn more for the same products. Just like any other site with a similar system, members often try to figure out exactly how it all works, but the exact method is a secret.
